Overview
FullContact builds contact-management and identity products, combining its own primary data with web-sourced data to create unified contact records. The company maintains a database of about 40 billion contacts and serves individuals (via freemium mobile apps), businesses, and software developers through APIs. FullContact says its user numbers are in the 'millions' and, per investors, was on track to more than double recurring revenue for the fourth straight year. The company is developing FullContact Connect to let users own an ID and control content online, and is working on "remove yourself" privacy capabilities. Planned uses for new funding include acquisitions, hiring, business development, and adding new features to expand beyond contact management. FullContact was founded in 2010 and is based in Denver. FullContact is a Denver, CO-based provider of address book solutions offering a connected suite of apps and APIs that enhance contacts with relational insights and keep them organized, synchronized, up to date, and safe. Led by CEO Bart Lorang, the company recently released major updates to its iOS and Gmail-based applications to help users get more from their address books on mobile, the web and inside email. FullContact provides both consumer-facing apps and developer APIs focused on contact enrichment and synchronization. The company intends to use new funding to continue developing applications for additional devices, with upcoming releases of FullContact for Mac and FullContact for Android. Financially, the company closed a $10M funding round that brought total funding to nearly $20M. FullContact offers a suite of contact-management APIs that perform contact enrichment, deduplication, name normalization and location normalization to turn partial contacts into richer social profiles. The company serves customers including PRNewswire, UserVoice, SnapEngage, Yesware and Pardot. FullContact plans to use its new funding to grow the product team and broaden its platform, and is preparing to launch the FullContact Cloud Address Book web application (currently in private beta). The Cloud Address Book, built on FullContact's API platform, syncs contacts from cloud, mobile and desktop sources, normalizes and merges entries, enriches profiles with social data, and supports tags, searches and sharing. FullContact is a TechStars graduate and is hiring to support its product expansion. FullContact offers a developer-facing API that converts partial or out-of-date contact records into complete contact profiles by drawing on a database of over 100 million contact records. The data returned can include phone numbers, emails, postal addresses, names, titles, companies, social profile URLs, images, birthdays, instant messenger handles, and other publicly available information. The company uses a crowdsourcing model to update contact information and restricts usage — its technology cannot be used with advertising networks, ad exchanges, or services that tie cookies to contact data. Any software application can leverage FullContact’s contact database via the API; over 750 developers currently use it. Financially, the company has completed a Series A raise (see deal details). FullContact was founded in 2010 and graduated from the TechStars accelerator.
