YOU-app is an iOS app from Helsinki-based startup Fifth Corner Inc. that prompts users to perform tiny, science-backed "micro-actions" (one minute per day) and share photos of those actions with their network. The interface is content-heavy and visually reminiscent of Instagram; photos are shared to friends, followers and the web to capture proof and social reinforcement. The company emphasizes small, sustainable behavior changes rather than heavy data tracking and measurement. Fifth Corner recently closed a $550,000 seed financing led by London-based VC Wellington Partners, with participation from angel investors in Finland and the U.K. Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is a backer and has been heavily promoting the app to his roughly 4.4 million Twitter followers; Fifth Corner is working with his team on content and distribution but the terms of his involvement were not disclosed. An Android version is planned for Q2 2015.
