Overview
FightMe is an iOS social video network that lets users record and share 30-second unedited videos, set challenges, and respond to others with themed video replies. The app uses a voting mechanism called “applaud” to surface the most popular videos. Android support is planned for the future, and the company is using brand ambassadors, university-focused outreach, and street teams to grow its user base. FightMe is already working with brands via Promoted Challenges and sponsored hashtags as an early revenue avenue. The startup reports it is in “early days” but has roughly 10% monthly active users and 5% daily active users, with active users sharing on average 10 videos per month; about 50% of its user base is in the U.S. Joelle Hadfield is quoted as the company’s CEO. FightMe is a social video app that lets users post 30-second, unedited clips tied to hashtags and respond to others’ videos; viewers 'applaud' favorites and the most‑applauded clips rise to the top. The app emphasizes urban performance content such as beatboxing, rapping, spoken word, and activities like parkour. It was founded by Jamie Lorenz (also founder of the Cuckoo Club) and Joelle Hadfield (former head of PR for Lulu). Since launching in July the team focused on building a community in the U.K., but 48% of its audience already comes from the U.S. With new funding the company is removing the beta label and planning further expansion in the U.S.; cofounder Jamie Lorenz has been spending considerable time in Los Angeles. The founders are exploring monetization options and see branded competitions as a potential advertising opportunity.
