Overview

Ink File Picker offers a developer-facing file management platform and API that connects applications to more than a dozen online services (Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, Box, GitHub, SkyDrive, Gmail, Instagram, etc.), user devices, and elsewhere. The product handles file import/export, image processing, storage, versioning and other content operations, with integrations for both web and mobile developers. Ink rebranded from Filepicker.io to reflect a broader vision beyond a simple upload tool toward a comprehensive file-system layer for the web. The company reports significant usage: roughly 400 million files seen per month (over 10 million per day), about 1 million files in November last year, 20,000 applications using the service from ~17,000 developers, and well-known customers including SurveyMonkey, Scribd, Livefyre and others. Pricing is freemium: under 5,000 files per month is free, a Pro plan is $99/month for up to 50,000 files, enterprise plans are custom, and management estimates 5–10% of customers are on paid plans. With the seed funding closed in September, the team has grown from four to eight and aims to reach 15 employees next year. Product plans emphasize further mobile investment (addressing UI, release cycles and versioning) and longer-term international expansion and localization based on customer demand.
