FileThis is a cloud-based document-filing service that automatically logs into users' online accounts to collect statements, bills and other files from banks, credit cards, utilities, insurers, trading accounts and more. It syncs gathered files to users' chosen cloud storage such as Evernote, Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, Personal, or FileThis's own FileThis Cloud, and users can also scan/upload files via a Mac desktop app. The company launched an iOS app that adds mobile camera uploads and on-device account management; an Android version was slated for release in May. FileThis supports about 350 institutions and is adding 20–25 each month; management says supporting 3,000 institutions would cover roughly 85–90% of commonly used services (it estimates current coverage at 75%). The product is freemium (up to six institutions free) with a $4.99/month tier for 30 connections; the company reports a user base in the "five digits" and an 18% conversion rate from free to paid. FileThis is a 10-person, San Francisco-based startup cofounded by Brian Berson and CTO Trent Brown and is backed by $2 million in funding from undisclosed strategic investors.
