Overview

Filmustage is an AI platform that automates film pre-production workflows including script breakdowns, scheduling, synopsis generation, budget management, and risk analysis. Its AI analyzes scripts across 17+ categories (characters, locations, props) and dynamically updates breakdowns as scripts change. The platform exports to industry tools such as Movie Magic, Gorilla Scheduling, and Final Draft to fit existing production workflows. Filmustage says it reduces manual breakdown time by 90% and yields six times more accuracy, and is used by professionals from large studios to independent filmmakers, including Roger Christian. By August 2024 the company reported more than 15,000 registrations and cited notable users such as Callan Green, Chris LeDoux, Mark Kolpack, and Martin Manuel Nuza. Founded by Egor Dubrovsky from his experience shooting pilots for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, the team is developing a specialized AI model for scripts and production plans and plans to expand into additional pre- and post-production capabilities. Filmustage, launched in 2020 by Belarussian co-founders Egor Dubrovsky, Ruslan Khamidullin and Andrei Karalkou, uses AI to automate time-consuming pre-production tasks such as script breakdowns, scene element categorization and visual referencing. Core features include rapid script breakdowns into scenes and elements (props, costumes, characters), a script summary tool that aggregates scene needs, semi-automatic scheduling that exports to spreadsheets and scheduling software, and an AI analysis tool that flags requirements like animal handling, stunts and COVID safety. The product supports PDF and Final Draft uploads and offers reports and references with stock or user images; notable users include Oscar-winning set decorator Roger Christian. As of February 2023 the company reports more than 4,400 registered users and over 350 paid users, and it sells a basic $49/month plan and a studio $149/month plan with a seven-day free trial. Filmustage plans to expand internationally with language support (Spanish, French and German rolling out in summer; Hindi and Chinese in 2024) and to add marketplace integrations for equipment purchasing and a script pitch deck feature. The company intends to use new funding to fuel international expansion and acquire new B2B customers, including several major industry players.
