FinCompare operates an online comparison marketplace that helps small and medium-sized businesses find, compare and close financing products such as credit, leasing, factoring and finetrading. Its platform lists products from more than 200 banks, alternative financial-service providers and development banks. Since entering the market in February 2017 the site has attracted more than 2,500 customers and processed more than one billion euros. FinCompare positions itself as an independent comparison site while receiving commissions from financing partners for brokered deals. The new capital will be used to invest in its IT platform, expand the team and fund planned European expansion into German-speaking markets and other countries including the U.K. FinCompare operates an online marketplace (www.fincompare.de) that lets small and medium-sized enterprises find, compare and close financing offers from banks, fintechs and financial service providers. The platform offers financing starting from €10k and aggregates more than 200 finance partners, including Commerzbank, UniCredit and Volksbank, as well as alternative providers and fintechs such as Arvato Bertelsmann, Grenke, bezahlt.de, Lendico and iwoca. The company is free and vendor-agnostic and aims to improve its product offering and expand marketing and staff with the new capital. FinCompare plans to use the funds to grow the business and enhance the platform. The startup employs a team of 25 people, about half of whom work in IT and development. The company was founded by Stephan Heller (CEO), Nicolay Ofner (COO), Sarp D. Demirel (CTO) and Paul Weber (CCO) and is based in Berlin, Germany.
