Overview
Founded in 2014, Finn AI builds simple, easy-to-use conversational banking platforms that help customers manage their money through financial institutions. Its core product is a conversational banking platform used by clients including Bank of Montreal, ATB Financial and Commonwealth Bank. The company said it will use new funding to accelerate growth in North America and Europe and to extend core product capabilities for existing clients. Yaletown Partners described Finn AI as having strong growth momentum. The firm also announced the hiring of Linda Wittich as Managing Director, Global Sales & Strategic Account Management to bolster sales and strategic account efforts. Finn.ai provides a conversational platform for banks that leverages a proprietary, domain-specific natural language understanding engine and a large banking and personal finance-specific language data model. The company intends to use C$3m in institutional financing to grow its team of data scientists, engineers and banking industry experts and to support expansion into the U.S. and global markets. Finn.ai was founded in 2014 by CEO Jake Tyler, COO Natalie Cartwright and CTO Guru Atlu and is based in Vancouver. In conjunction with the funding, banking industry veteran Carrie Russell joined as Strategic Executive Adviser to support product roadmap and market engagement. The company recently announced a collaboration with ATB Financial to make a full-featured personal banking assistant available through Facebook Messenger to ATB’s 700,000 customers. The platform is targeted at banks seeking conversational engagement and personalized finance interactions for customers.
