Finqware, founded in 2018 in Romania, offers an open-banking middleware platform and custom-built connectors that let businesses retrieve account information, onboard products, and view and control funds from multiple banks on a single platform. The company sells customizable API features so clients only use the functionality they need and can onboard new customers quickly once relevant banks are connected. Finqware has completed projects in several CEE countries, including a rapid rollout with OTP Banka in Croatia covering 90% of the market in six weeks and a partnership with Banca Transilvania that connected seven other banks’ APIs into one app. The startup is pursuing a TPP license from the National Bank of Romania to operate as both a technical service provider (TSP) and third-party provider (TPP), which leadership expects to finalize in the coming months. The company plans to use recent funding to enhance product capabilities, scale data aggregation and processing, and expand its customer base across the CEE region.
