FinScience, founded in 2017 by former Google Italia senior managers, offers a platform that gives simple access to alternative data for people working in the financial industry. The software leverages AI algorithms to collect, classify, analyze and summarize large volumes of digital data from social networks, websites, blogs and other sources. Its datasets are designed to enrich traditional information used in financial analysis and to surface signals potentially connected with medium- to long-term asset price trends. The company closed a €1m seed funding round to support its commercial launch. FinScience plans to use the capital to enlarge its tech team and to develop the software by adding new features and machine-learning algorithms. The company was advised on the transaction by Epic Sim and GVA-Good Ventures Advisory.
