The tool is used by about 350,000 developers and has nearly 50,000 stars on GitHub, with notable customers including Shopify, Replit, Zapier and some large hedge funds. The company recently released an API that supports search and plans to add natural language prompt support soon. Firecrawl is also building tools to help website owners and publishers get paid when AI uses their content. The founders have experimented with hiring AI agents as employees and are now looking for an AI chief of staff to manage agent employees. The startup says it is already profitable.
