FireDrone is a Swiss Empa spin-off building drones engineered to withstand approximately 200 °C, enabling real-time hazard detection where conventional drones fail. By combining thermal insulation and active cooling, the platform supports high-risk operations such as firefighting, cement, steel, aluminium, waste-to-energy and glass production inspections. Its technology aims to reduce downtime, improve worker safety, and help companies meet regulatory requirements. The startup targets two primary segments: high-temperature industrial inspections and public safety. Initial pilot projects span first-responder scenarios and heavy-industry clients that need monitoring in smoke-filled or furnace-level heat. With fresh capital, FireDrone plans to scale go-to-market efforts, build distribution and maintenance partnerships, advance product certification, and convert pilots into pre-orders. The company will also grow its business-development team to accelerate commercialization. To date, it has secured €161,000 (CHF 150,000) in non-dilutive funding from Venture Kick to support these initiatives.
