Firewall
San Francisco, CA, United States
Overview
Firewall develops a programmable finality consensus mechanism designed to prevent smart contract exploits and improve smart contract usability. Its technology acts like a network firewall for the modular blockchain ecosystem, extending rollups with programmable transaction finalization rules that block harmful transactions before data is finalized by DA layers such as EigenDA or Celestia. The company’s initial focus is the rollup ecosystem and on building non-custodial, trustless security primitives for smart contract networks. Founders previously served as early employees at Staked and built institutional infrastructure that handled billions of dollars, which the team cites as experience informing Firewall’s design. Near term plans include expanding the team and community to “firewall the EVM.” Longer-term plans include developing coordination mechanisms to integrate a social layer directly into Firewall’s system.
