Firewave builds autonomous solar-powered field sensors, cloud-based AI analysis, and a real-time alerting platform that identifies the unique sound signature of combustion to detect small fires within minutes. The company already has an active MVP used in pilots and first commercial installations in Israel and the U.S. and is developing a second-generation product aimed at improved scalability, robustness, lower power consumption, and edge AI capabilities. Firewave was founded in 2024 and has raised $1.25M to date, including a $500K Pre-Seed round and a grant from the Israeli Innovation Authority. The startup targets WUI communities and high-value assets such as camps, resorts, wineries, utilities and other customers near vegetation, and plans to expand toward larger customers like utilities and government agencies. Near-term plans include establishing semi-mass production by summer 2026, expanding U.S. commercial operations, and improving acoustic models to reduce false positives while broadening detection capabilities.
