First Bite is a startup led by ex-Impossible Foods executive Reed McCord that recently emerged from stealth. It offers a data platform designed to give food manufacturers the data foundation, automation, and tools to drive growth in the foodservice channel. The company aims to address a lack of data and transparency in foodservice that McCord identified while at Impossible Foods. First Bite raised a $2m round to expand the platform. The funding will help the team build products and automation to enable manufacturers to execute more targeted strategies. McCord says it is the product he wished existed when building the foodservice business at Impossible Foods.
