First Phosphate
Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec, Canada
Overview
First Phosphate is focused on exploring and developing high-grade phosphate deposits, with its flagship Bégin-Lamarche project in Quebec positioned as one of the few North American sources of battery-grade phosphate. The company targets end-markets such as lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for energy storage and robotics, aiming to shorten and regionalize critical-mineral supply chains. Its core strategy is to advance mining and processing capabilities that meet the purity requirements of modern green technologies. Since June 2022, First Phosphate has executed a series of private placements that have raised a cumulative USD 42.2 million to fund exploration, project advancement, and corporate operations. The most recent raise consisted of flow-through shares and hard-dollar units priced at USD 0.90, underscoring continued investor appetite for tax-advantaged and common equity structures. The company also issued compensation shares and warrants exercisable through April 2026, designed to align advisors and supporters with long-term value creation. These proceeds will be deployed toward drilling, feasibility studies, and permitting as the company progresses toward potential commercial production.
