FitSafe is a NYC-based insurtech that provides a risk management and commercial insurance underwriting software platform for the sports and fitness sector. The company was created by Jeff Halevy in response to a rise in sports and fitness casualty insurance claims and related litigation. Its software lets property and casualty policyholders and prospective policyholders assess and improve risk profiles and allows underwriters to write policies based on granular, industry-specific risk analysis. FitSafe received a $250K minority investment from SterlingRisk, which acquired 1% of the company's shares and implied a $25M valuation. The investment will help FitSafe further enhance the software’s capabilities ahead of an upcoming launch. The product is set to launch early in the fourth quarter of the year.
