Five ID offers a biometric palm-recognition platform that links credit cards, bank accounts, loyalty programs and gym memberships to a single palm credential. Users register in a few seconds and then pay, collect points, check in to gyms or verify age by presenting their hand to a reader. The device integrates with existing point-of-sale systems and the company says it can finalize transactions in 0.3 seconds. Five ID claims the technology removes card fees for merchants and is already deployed in retail, hospitality and fitness venues across the U.K. and Ireland. The company was founded by Maria Marti and Thibaut Grenverier, both former Revolut employees, and plans to use the recent seed funding to scale deployments.
