Five9 provides cloud contact center software that helps contact centers transition from premise-based solutions to the cloud. The company serves more than 1,800 customers and facilitates over three billion customer interactions annually. Five9 employs more than 450 people worldwide and emphasizes a cloud delivery model, partner ecosystem, and scalable, secure software for customer engagement. Founded in 2001 and based in San Ramon, Calif., Five9 positions itself as a market leader transforming contact centers into customer engagement centers. In this announcement Five9 raised $34.5M in private funding (a $22M Series D equity tranche plus a $12.5M bank revolver), which the company says will support continued growth and client additions. Five9 provides cloud-based contact center software, including the Five9 Virtual Contact Center and Predictive Dialer. The company processes more than two billion customer calls per year and serves over 1,500 customers worldwide. Five9 reported record revenue growth in 2011, exceeding 70% growth over 2010 revenues, and employs approximately 360 people, including what it describes as the largest engineering team in the cloud contact center market. The company positions its offering as a lower-cost alternative to legacy on-premise Cisco, Avaya and Genesys systems and says demand is accelerating as customers seek lower costs and improved productivity. Five9 was named to Inc. Magazine’s list of America’s fastest-growing private companies for the second consecutive year in 2011 and to the San Francisco Business Times’ list of largest software companies in the Bay Area. Management says the additional funding will let Five9 expand its leadership position and take advantage of its momentum. Five9 is the leading global provider of on-demand call center software, offering the Five9 Virtual Call Center and Predictive Dialer. Its cloud-based platform processes over one billion telephone calls per year for tens of thousands of call-center agents worldwide. The company says it tripled revenue and its customer base over a three-year period and was named to Inc. magazine’s and the San Francisco Business Times’ lists of fastest-growing private companies. Five9 positions itself as the largest pure-play SaaS provider to the call center market and seeks to capture market share as enterprises shift from premise-based to cloud-based solutions. Management says the new financing will be used to accelerate growth and continue enhancing the product portfolio based on market demand, customer and partner feedback. Adams Street Partners highlighted Five9’s technical capability and the company’s sustained profitability through periods of high revenue growth.
