Flagcat is a French startup founded in 2023 that develops action- and fantasy-focused webtoons, mangas and animated series. Its core product includes digitally produced comics and animation, supported by a proprietary automation tool for character coloring that enhances production efficiency and output quality. The company aims to become a leading international player in digital comics and animation. Flagcat completed a €2.5M Seed financing in which Acurio Ventures participated. Acurio Ventures is a Bilbao-based venture fund with a €150M vehicle focused on backing European seed and Series A startups in technology and entertainment. Orrick acted as legal counsel to Acurio on the transaction.
