FlashSoft develops Flash Virtualization software called FlashSoft SE, a server-tier persistent read-write caching solution that places frequently used data on SSDs to cut IO latency. FlashSoft SE is commercially available, in use in production by several customers, and offered with a 30-day evaluation; a Linux edition is in beta. The product is compatible with SATA, SAS and PCIe SSDs, is cluster-aware, requires no changes to applications or storage, and automatically tunes operational parameters. Early customers Zenprise and Trion Worlds reported substantial performance improvements (Zenprise noted a 10x increase), and the company published a 4x faster OLTP MS-SQL performance test. FlashSoft is building a technical community and collaborating with partners including VMware, Microsoft, SanDisk, Virident, LSI, OCZ and AMAX to integrate its software with complementary hardware and platforms. The company announced a $3 million Series A to support commercialization and broader adoption of its FlashSoft SE solution.
