Overview

Flatiron Health offers the OncologyCloud platform, which includes an oncology electronic medical record (EMR), advanced analytics, a patient portal, and integrated billing management. The company aggregates longitudinal, de-identified real-world oncology data through proprietary processing to deliver a continuously updating data resource for providers and life‑science companies. Its products support clinical decision-making, enable patient access tools at the point of care, and generate real-world evidence to inform research and commercialization. Flatiron is expanding strategic relationships with Celgene and Amgen to accelerate clinical research, advance personalized medicine, and enhance treatment options for cancer patients. Celgene has made an equity investment in Flatiron's recently announced fundraising round and will expand its use of OncologyCloud; Amgen Ventures also invested and will continue to work with Flatiron on Amgen's OSCER database. OSCER was launched in 2004 and has been powered by Flatiron since January 2015; Amgen will leverage Flatiron products that integrate de-identified clinical treatment and outcomes data with genomic profiling to accelerate clinical research. Flatiron is backed by investors including Google Ventures, First Round Capital, Roche and others. Flatiron Health develops a cloud-based oncology software platform called OncologyCloud, which includes OncoEMR (an oncology EHR), OncoAnalytics, OncoBilling, and the SeeYourChart patient portal. The company positions its products to help providers succeed under evolving reimbursement models and to enable participation in value-based care initiatives such as the Oncology Care Model. Flatiron plans to invest the new funding in a next-generation OncoEMR with workflow, infrastructure, and design enhancements, plus additional features across its analytics, billing, and patient-portal offerings. The company also intends to expand its value-based care solutions and release tools and services later this year to support clinical transformation. Flatiron will continue accelerating partnerships with life-science companies to advance real-world evidence and personalized medicine. The company was founded in 2012 and is based in New York. Flatiron Health operates a cloud-based platform that connects cancer treatment centers to organize and analyze real-time oncology data. The company aggregates data from millions of cases to enable researchers, physicians, and patients to make data-driven decisions and improve care. Flatiron launched in 2012 and is currently in beta. There are presently between 500 and 1,000 oncologists using Flatiron’s data platform. The company plans to acquire Altos Solutions and integrate its electronic medical records users and 60 employees into Flatiron. Flatiron also plans to hire up to 30 additional staffers, mostly engineers, by the end of the year. Flatiron Health provides a SaaS oncology data platform that enables cancer care providers to aggregate, structure, and analyze clinical data to monitor guideline adherence, benchmark metrics, automate tumor registries, and match patients to trials in real time. The platform supplies clinicians and administrators with analytics for clinical intelligence, resource utilization, treatment patterns, network management and research. Flatiron is in private beta with a select group of U.S. providers and has signed five major hospital systems (primarily on the East Coast), including a prominent academic cancer center. The company has 12 employees. The founders, Nat Turner and Zach Weinberg, previously sold Invite Media to Google in 2010 and spent time at Google before starting Flatiron. The new funds will be used to expand engineering and product teams and to move from pilots toward a public beta when ready.
