Fleep

Akadeemia tee 21/4, Tallinn, Estonia

Overview

Fleep is a team-messaging app designed to bridge group email and enterprise IM by allowing ad-hoc, email-address-based participation alongside native app users. Conversations are threaded, can be titled, are fully searchable, and include features like editable pinned notes and a files tab for quick attachment retrieval. The product deliberately avoids a walled-garden approach: participants can join a conversation via email and have their replies pulled into Fleep. The startup launched initially with iOS and web clients and has added Android, Mac and Windows apps to increase ubiquity and everyday use. Early traction includes “thousands” of beta users in its first six months and one larger client, Glimstedt, a 250-person international law firm. The team keeps an eye on Windows Phone but currently has no plans for that platform. Fleep is a web and iOS app designed to bridge the gap between reply-all group email threads and enterprise-style instant messaging. The product is user-centric and intentionally open, enabling conversations that cross company borders rather than enforcing a walled-garden, company-wide system. Conversations are threaded, can be titled, are fully searchable, and support adding participants by name or email so non-app users can participate via email while their contributions sync into Fleep. The app includes lightweight collaboration features such as pinned editable notes and a files tab for browsing attachments. The team comprises several ex-Skype engineers and other founders with startup and corporate backgrounds. Fleep is positioning itself as a consumer-led growth play to empower end users to work more efficiently and reduce inbox load. The company has raised seed funding of €260,000 to support its launch and early operations.
