Fleex provides employers a way to allocate a monthly budget that employees can spend on desks, monitors, peripherals, chairs and other IT and furniture items for remote work. The company works directly with suppliers to assemble a product catalog, purchases supplies, ships them to employees' homes and manages the full lifecycle (including returns when an employee leaves). Fleex is starting with IT supplies and furniture and is focused on making it easier to operationalize remote-work equipment policies for employers of different sizes. Because Fleex purchases and holds physical inventory, its business model requires upfront capital and it is still working to understand unit economics and product lifespans. The startup is just getting started and is piloting its offering with a few customers. So far Swile, Back Market and Shine have used Fleex, allocating an average monthly budget of €55 per employee. Fleex has raised a $2 million seed round (€1.7 million) and joined eFounders, a European startup studio focused on SaaS companies.
