Flexlife provides subsea project management and integrity management solutions to the oil and gas sector and has developed a patented non-invasive ultrasonic scanning method for flexible pipes, known as "risers." Founded in 2007 by Stuart Mitchell and John Marsden and based in Aberdeen, UK, the company counts Total, Shell, Apache and Maersk among its customers. Flexlife raised £5.5m in equity financing to support its growth. The investment will help the company maximise revenues from existing customers, develop into new markets and expand the business to take advantage of global opportunities for its products. The core product—ultrasonic riser scanning—helps identify flooding and damage at an early stage.
