381 Mansfield Avenue Suite 205, Pittsburgh, PA, 15220, United States
Overview
Flexuspine is developing a total spine disc replacement system it calls a "functional spine unit," intended to restore mobility in affected lumbar segments as an alternative to spinal fusion. In April the company received regulatory approval to begin a U.S. clinical feasibility study, described as the first approved clinical study for a total spine arthroplasty system in the U.S. The company has started that trial and is also conducting studies at international sites to generate data to support a pivotal U.S. trial. Flexuspine disclosed an additional $2.1 million added to a larger Series B in a regulatory filing. Its primary investors include Onset Ventures, the Vertical Group and Warburg Pincus. CEO Vin Jannetty declined to share further fundraising details but said the company will make a public announcement about the B round soon. The company is based in Pittsburgh.
