Flip AI built a bespoke large language model trained specifically on DevOps data to power an observability platform. The LLM was trained on over 100 billion tokens of DevOps-specific data such as logs, metrics, trace data and configuration files to help rationalize queries across systems. Its product analyzes data in place (requiring read access only) and generates a root-cause analysis typically in seconds and usually under a minute. The company announced the product is generally available and disclosed a previously unannounced $6.5 million seed investment. Flip AI has about 20 employees split between San Francisco and Bangalore and is trying to balance strong customer demand with methodical growth. Founders include CEO and co-founder Corey Harrison, CTO Sunil Mallya and CPO Deap Ubhi, with Mallya and Ubhi having prior roles at Amazon; Harrison previously served as SVP of operations and chief of staff to the NFL Commissioner. The company emphasizes surfacing the model's reasoning path so human developers can verify outputs when the model is not fully correct.
