Flit is a shopping app for the iPad that aggregates products across about 1,000 stores into a single interface. The app automatically searches hundreds of shops in its database using patent-pending technology to eliminate switching between browser tabs. Users can label items as “Cute” to save or share, compare up to three items side-by-side, and buy items within the app (Flit collects an affiliate fee). Flit also offers a Lookbook feature that lets retailers, brands, and partners showcase curated sets of products for an immersive shopping experience. Since its mid-October launch, the company reports searches have grown 100% month over month and monthly store visits have increased 113%. The company raised $750,000 from a group of investors including Crosslink Capital, YouWeb Startup Incubator, Spencer Trask, and Correlation Ventures.
