Flowbox

Kraków, Malopolskie, Poland

Overview

Flowbox began as an object-oriented programming language for visual effects and has evolved into an industrial-strength image-processing platform used on large productions. The company offers a visual interface for changing video and supports distributed computing to accelerate compositing workflows. Its flagship capability is semi-automated rotoscoping, aimed at reducing time spent on a labor-intensive step used in a large portion of video content processing. The team is expanding the toolchain to include color correction and image composition. Flowbox is working with several major studios to integrate its VFX tools into big productions. The project traces back to an idea initiated in 2010 by Wojciech Daniło; the company’s core team includes Mikołaj Valencia, Michał Urbańczyk, Paweł Pietraszko, and Mat Bujalski.
