Fluid is a community sharing app available on iOS and Android that lets users post short descriptions and photos, set availability, pick-up instructions and rental prices to rent items to and from neighbors. Renters can browse listings, schedule usage, pay in-app, use messaging and receive reminders; the app also offers a Community Requests feature for items not yet listed. Safety features include two-factor mobile authentication, user ratings, and protection that repairs or reimburses owners for damaged items. In its Denver pilot, thousands of users downloaded Fluid in the first 90 days and created an inventory of over 500 items with prices ranging from $1 to $350 per day. The company plans to use the seed financing to refine the product, invest in the community sharing marketplace, and grow its team.
