Federated Fluther is optimized so partner sites capture SEO benefits from the Q&A content while Fluther.com hosts the content but keeps it out of search to avoid competing with partners. Third parties can embed the service for increased engagement and longer user sessions, and Fluther expects the federated model to improve targeting as more partners join. The company sees competition from established Q&A services and potential future offerings from platforms like Facebook, and plans to scale partner integrations to enable targeting of expert communities. Fluther raised $600,000 from angel investors last year and lists Leonard Speiser and Biz Stone as advisors.
