Overview
Flux is a San Francisco–based platform that bills itself as the world’s first AI hardware engineer. Trained on hundreds of thousands of real-world designs, its AI agent helps users plan circuit board layouts, source components, run tests, and generate manufacturing files—all from a web browser. The system can also recommend ways to cut costs and mitigate supply-chain risk, positioning it as an alternative to hiring electrical engineers or buying off-the-shelf OEM parts. More than 1 million makers, designers, and entrepreneurs have used Flux to create nearly 6.5 million devices, spanning wearables, robots, smart-home controllers, drone navigation systems, and IoT-enabled organ-on-chip platforms. By bringing the cost of design near zero, Flux hopes to let non-experts tackle niche or personal hardware projects previously reserved for large manufacturers. The newly raised capital will be directed toward expanding the AI to handle more complex electronic use cases and to further democratize hardware design.
