Fly-Box
Rue de Rive 4, Genève, 1204, Switzerland
Overview
Fly-Box is developing 20-meter flying freight platforms designed to carry 40-foot shipping containers weighing up to 30 tons and to cruise at about 25 knots. The platforms are intended to operate in a "sea train" formation, with one piloted unit leading autonomously connected follower units to reduce port and urban congestion and decarbonize logistics. The company has designed and built a first prototype, secured patents, and in June 2025 tested an 8-meter battery-powered Fly-Box Compact for smaller loads on Lake Geneva. Fly-Box was co-founded in 2023 and is based in Geneva. Financially, the company has raised nearly CHF 3 million in pre-seed funding and previously raised CHF 1 million at founding; the current funds are earmarked to advance PoC trials and gather teleoperability and user-experience data. Fly-Box is targeting an additional CHF 1–1.5 million pre-seed round this fall, followed by a larger EUR 20 million round to fund design and pre-production of two full-scale Fly-Boxes, with demos planned on Lake Geneva and in Dubai and an estimated production capacity of 100 boats per year and first deliveries by 2027.
