Flyby Robotics builds end-to-end automation for drone delivery, led by founder and CEO Jason Lu. Its core product includes a package deployment system that gently winches products down from a hovering drone to customers’ doorsteps. The company has launched live pilots and active partnerships with food retailers and snack brands, including Nekter Juice Bar, MAD Greens, Tokyo Joe’s and Popadelics. During the pilot customers can order drone delivery for $3 and experience delivery times averaging under 4 minutes. Flyby intends to use the funding to accelerate technical development, expand pilots to new U.S. cities, and advance its flight systems from Level 3 to Level 4 autonomy. The company is targeting fully autonomous operations while retaining the option for remote manual override in rare circumstances.
