FlyData provides data-integration solutions (notably FlyData Sync) that enable customers to move large amounts of information into existing data warehouses to support data-driven management. The company is positioning itself as a total solution provider across industry IoT and AI data-management use cases. It plans to aggressively expand sales and marketing for FlyData Sync and to build data solutions tailored to IoT customers as well as AI data-management tools. For Industry IoT, FlyData is developing a cloud-based Big Data platform and has partnered with OptoComb to help automotive and manufacturing customers improve production-line efficiency and quality control. The company appointed Project Associate Professor Yutaka Matsuo from the University of Tokyo as a corporate advisor to support deep-learning and AI efforts. Financially, FlyData completed a $4 million Series A in this round and had previously raised more than $5 million from investors including 500 Startups.
