Overview

Flyhomes is a Seattle, WA-based wholesale lending startup founded in 2016 that equips lenders and agents with financial solutions for homebuying. Its core product is the “Buy Before You Sell” purchase bridge loan, which can turn a client’s offer into a non-contingent, cash-equivalent offer. The company holds lending licences in 40 US states. Flyhomes is led by CEO Tushar Garg and COOs Ryan Dibble and Adam Hopson. The firm raised $15M in a Series D and intends to use the proceeds to expand operations and broaden its business reach. Backers on the round included Andreessen Horowitz, Norwest Venture Partners, Canvas Ventures, Camber Creek, Al Goldstein and Mark Vadon. Flyhomes provides an end-to-end homebuying service that handles every step of the purchase process, from brokerage to mortgage, and builds financial tools for buyers. Its Cash Offer lending product lets customers make all-cash offers, and Flyhomes will purchase the home itself if a buyer backs out. The company says sellers are more amenable to all-cash offers, helping buyers win competitive deals. Flyhomes reports it has bought and sold more than $2.6 billion worth of homes since launching in 2016. The startup has raised roughly $310 million in total funding to date. It positions itself as well‑placed amid a competitive U.S. housing market where many homes are selling quickly and above asking price. Flyhomes develops products to make home buying easier, including Cash Offers, Guaranteed Offers, and the Trade Up program that lets homeowners buy a new home using Flyhomes’ cash and sell their current home with a 90-day guaranteed sale. The company launched Trade Up in Seattle and San Francisco and operates a family of businesses including FlyHomes Brokerage, FlyHomes Mortgage, FlyHomes Closing, and Madre Homes (d/b/a FlyHomes Crew). Founded in 2015 by Stephen Lane and Tushar Garg, Flyhomes has enabled more than 1,000 people to close on over $1 billion worth of homes. The Trade Up program guarantees a competitive price for a customer’s current home and promises to buy it if it does not sell within 90 days; any excess sale proceeds are returned to the customer. Flyhomes plans to use the new financing to accelerate product growth, scale Trade Up, expand operations to new cities on both coasts, and more than double its headcount in 2019. FlyHomes is an end-to-end real-estate brokerage and technology company that operates a Cash Offers program to enable pre-qualified clients to make all-cash, fast-close offers. The company conducts in-house home evaluations with full-time licensed inspectors, offers on-demand tours, and maintains dedicated negotiation and pricing teams that use data to estimate auction clearing prices. FlyHomes converts buyers (with down payments as low as 5%) into cash buyers by purchasing homes on their behalf using debt facilities, then transfers ownership to the client once financing closes. Since 2015 the company has helped more than 400 people close on over $300 million worth of homes, and its clients win more than one out of every two offers submitted. Planned uses of new capital include increasing deployment of the Cash Offers program, hiring, further product development, and expanding into new markets. FlyHomes also plans to begin qualifying customers in-house through a wholly owned subsidiary, FlyHomes Mortgage, this summer. FlyHomes is a Seattle-based real estate and technology company that has built a buyer’s platform providing every client a dedicated local expert alongside specialists in pricing research, negotiations, marketing, touring, and software engineering. Led by Co‑Founder and COO Tushar Garg, the company's technology, partnerships, and team-based approach enables on-demand tours, the ability to close within seven days, and regularly winning offers at lower prices than traditional real estate firms. FlyHomes intends to use its new capital to expand marketing efforts and accelerate product development. In this transaction the company raised $4M in total, comprising a $2M Series A equity investment and $2M of debt financing. Serial entrepreneur Mark Vadon led the $2M equity round and will join FlyHomes' board of directors. Existing and new investors participated, including Pritzker Group Venture Capital and Al Goldstein of Avant.
