FoldiMate is an Oak Park, Calif.-based creator of a robotic laundry folding machine for home use. Led by CEO Gal Rozov, the company has developed multiple prototypes that fold shirts, pants, towels and more. It plans to ship the machine in late 2018 or early 2019 and intends to unveil an early working prototype at CES 2018 after debuting a non-working mockup at CES 2017 that drew strong attention. FoldiMate closed $3M in seed funding, with several investors opting to remain undisclosed. Don Norman, an advocate of human-centered design and former Apple VP, joined the company's board. The company will use the funds to develop and build additional prototypes during this stage of development.
