Founded in 2016, Boston-based Folia Health has built a software platform that lets individuals with chronic and rare conditions log daily symptoms, treatments, and outcomes from home and control how that information is shared. The resulting home-reported outcomes (HROs) generate longitudinal, research-grade real-world evidence that has already informed FDA discussions, treatment guidelines, and partnerships with leading life-science companies. Key features include explicit consent controls, detailed Participant Reports that show exactly how data are used, and a Data Dividends program that shares study revenue with contributors. In 2025 the company launched Mosaic, a community insights initiative that lets users query aggregated peer data, initially for eczema and PNH and slated to expand to lupus and sickle-cell disease in 2026. Folia is also running studies across rare kidney diseases, cystic fibrosis (assessing Trikafta), IgA nephropathy, and sickle-cell pain management. The fresh $10.5 million Series A financing strengthens Folia’s balance sheet and positions it to broaden condition coverage and deepen partnerships.
