Food-X Technologies builds a scalable end-to-end software solution for profitable online grocery fulfilment, marketed as its eGrocery Management Solution (eGMS). The eGMS provides software tools that help fulfillment center employees and e-commerce managers manage day-to-day online grocery operations at scale and integrates with ERP, legacy grocery systems, warehouse automation and robotics. Food-X plans to use a follow-on $2.6 million investment from the Digital Technology Supercluster to enhance eGMS functionality and help retailers scale safe food delivery and meet rising online demand. The funding is ten times the initial amount raised for an April feasibility study, enabling continued collaboration with partners including Microsoft, Adaptech, AltaML, ETG Consulting, Routific, OpsGuru and Spud. The company emphasizes profitable unit economics, local food transparency and sustainability and draws on over 20 years of experience in online grocery. The project is part of the Supercluster's COVID-19 program to support frontline workers and strengthen Canada's digital innovation capacity.
