Forager
75 Market St Ste 402, Portland, ME, 04101, United States
Overview
Forager is an online and mobile platform that digitizes the local food procurement-to-payment workflow for grocers, co-ops, farmers, and other producers. By eliminating manual processes, the software reduces time and costs for both buyers and sellers and includes a proprietary tool to discover and vet new suppliers. The company currently operates in more than 12 states, linking over 40 grocers and institutions with a network of about 500 local suppliers. Recent partnerships with Roche Bros. Supermarkets in Massachusetts and Bashas’ Family of Stores in Arizona demonstrate its expanding geographic reach. Forager plans to leverage its new capital to broaden sales channels and roll out product upgrades that better serve both grocers and farmers. Headquartered in Portland, Maine, the company is led by founder and Executive Chairman David Douglas Stone.
