Formarum
55 West Beaver Creek Rd Unit 44, Richmond Hill, Ontario, L4B1K5, Canada
Overview
Formarum is a Toronto-based company developing Dive, a wirelessly-controlled device for swimming pools that automates disinfecting chemical delivery. Dive performs salt chlorine generation and copper silver ionization in one solution and the company says it reduces chemical use by 90 percent. Over three years the team developed a turbine technology that enables self-powered, self-contained devices installable in pipes. Formarum intends to expand beyond the swimming pool market to develop turbines that eliminate external components like control panels, electrical cables, and communication modules. The company recently finished testing and is preparing for commercialization and production. As a hardware company in Canada it has had difficulty raising capital and plans to use the 43North prize, incubator space and mentorship to move production and build its team in Buffalo.
