Fortú is a Miami, FL-based provider of a digital bank account focused on Latino and Hispanic U.S. residents. Led by CEO Charles Yim, it targets the culturally contextual needs of more than 60 million Latinos and Hispanics in the U.S. Banking products are provided by LendingClub Bank, N.A., Member FDIC, and its debit card is issued by LendingClub Bank pursuant to a license from Mastercard. The company raised $5M in seed funding to support growth. The round was led by Valar Ventures with participation from Jake Gibson, Francesco Simoneschi, Joyce Kim, and Andrew Endicott. Fortú intends to use the funds to continue to expand its business and development efforts.
