Foundry is building a public cloud platform specifically for AI/ML workloads that aims to orchestrate the world’s compute capacity and make it universally accessible and useful. Its core product offers scalable GPU instances designed to address both the GPU shortage and widespread under-utilization of compute by improving price-performance. The company was founded by alumni from DeepMind’s core Deep Learning Team and Stanford’s CS PhD program (a group led by Matei Zaharia) and is led by CEO Jared Quincy Davis. Early adopters include enterprises such as KKR and LG, academic institutions like Stanford and MIT, and AI startups through cluster partnerships with Lightspeed and Pear VC. Foundry announced $80M in seed and Series A funding to accelerate its roadmap. The company says the proceeds will be used to expand operations, improve product offerings, and establish more strategic partnerships as it builds its AI/ML infrastructure platform.
