FreakOut is a Tokyo-based digital marketing company that recently raised $5.4M from YJ Capital. The proceeds are being used to back its subsidiary Dobleas, a New York City–based real-time mobile demand-side platform (DSP) provider. FreakOut intends the investment to bolster Dobleas’ engineering recruitment, support its mobile infrastructure and build out the company’s U.S. organization. Dobleas was founded in April 2012 as a spin-off from FreakOut president Yuzuru Honda. Dobleas enables marketers to buy real-time impressions across leading mobile supply sources and offers a mobile data management platform (DMP) that integrates first- and third-party data for scalable audience targeting. The U.S. leadership includes CEO Yugo Asato, CSO “Eda” Hirofumi Sakaeda, VP Francisco Quiroga and CRO Phil Miano.
