Fresvii provides the AppSteroid platform to create plug-and-play social networks and engagement features for mobile games and apps. Led by CEO and founder Hiro Nakagawa, the platform offers forums, group messaging, gameplay video recording and playback, voice chat, leaderboards and matchmaking. AppSteroid is compatible with Unity, iOS and Android and the company said it is expanding support to include Cocos2d. Clients include Japanese game developer Liica, which integrated AppSteroid into its mobile title Q Universe. The company raised $4m in funding and plans to use the proceeds to expand its team of engineers, pay off convertible debt and design new tools to supplement its social offerings. Fresvii is a Redwood City, Calif.-based platform service for smartphone game developers that offers cloud and social features for mobile titles. The company announced Open Beta for AppSteroid, its mobile game cloud platform. AppSteroid features Chatter, an in-game mobile voice chat that lets iOS and Android players talk, and enables developers to integrate voice chat, texting, leaderboards and matchmaking. Fresvii also provides community management, game forums, social network integration and push notifications as part of its platform. In addition, it offers Frenbee, a 3D avatar automation platform that allows developers to create avatars with Unity. The company closed a $1.8M funding round led by Nissay Capital and other angel investors. Led by Hiro Nakagawa, CEO, Fresvii is the maker of AppSteroid and Frenbee.
