Overview
Fretlink operates an online platform that connects shippers with trucking companies, offering access to trucks of many types. The marketplace lists over 200,000 trucks and serves approximately 5,000 customers across retail, FMCG, construction, environment, food & beverage and materials. The company was founded three years ago by CEO Paul Guillemin, CPO Antoine Le Squeren, CTO Frédéric Menou and Didier Duval and currently employs 80 people. Fretlink reported a turnover of €15m in 2018. The company says it will use new funding to expand operations, hire 100 additional people by the end of 2020 and open offices in Germany and Belgium by the end of Q2 2019. FretLink operates a software-as-a-service marketplace that connects shippers with screened transportation companies and centralizes booking and route optimization. The platform aims to fill trucks more efficiently by matching multiple clients, finding backhaul opportunities and reducing empty trailers. FretLink provides real-time shipment updates and standardizes processes to increase predictability and lower costs for clients. It takes a cut on each transaction conducted through the marketplace. The company has selected 2,500 transportation companies in Europe and aims to better utilize some 60,000 trucks on its platform. FretLink recently raised $6.4 million (€6 million) to support its growth and product expansion.
