Founded by longtime engineer and product designer Michael Sayman, Friendly Apps aims to create a suite of mobile apps that prioritize users' physical and mental health over retention-driven social mechanics. Sayman draws on experience building products at Facebook, Google, Roblox and Twitter and plans to apply those learnings to healthier design choices. The company has not yet launched products; Sayman says he will test multiple product ideas, experiences and design elements before public releases. Early product concepts include an app to help casual users achieve fitness goals and an app to encourage prioritizing real-world relationships. Sayman plans to incorporate perspectives from immigrants and non-tech communities into product development. As a solo founder, he expects to have something released to the public in around six months.
