Front of the Pack sells powdered dog supplements targeting total health and wellness, anxiety relief, and mobility support, along with freeze-dried raw dog treats formulated from beef tripe, rabbit, and wild Alaskan salmon. The company announced a $10 million Series A on July 14 and said the proceeds will fund clinical trials at UC Davis and product development. The UC Davis trial will be led by Jamie Peyton, DVM, associate director of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine’s Center for Advancing Pain Relief and Front of the Pack’s chief science officer. Founders Chris Wilkinson and Neil Hutchinson emphasized the company’s focus on science, efficacy, transparency, and supplier relationships as they build new products. Planned launches funded by the round include a healthy pet treat portfolio expected this summer and a pet food plus expanded supplement lines launching this fall. Front of the Pack has raised $13.5 million in total funding since late 2020. Board additions tied to the round include Fred Destin of Stride.VC and Max Niederhofer of Heartcore Capital.
