FrontDesk is developing a smartphone/tablet-based service that helps small businesses schedule meetings, review client profiles and receive billing alerts. The company plans to launch the new service early next month. The team is led by Jon Zimmerman, a former T-Mobile and Expedia analytics lead, and includes veterans from Expedia, Avvo and Trover. Zimmerman began the idea after encountering paperwork challenges at a CrossFit gym he co-owns in Seattle. FrontDesk reports hundreds of paying customers are testing the app. Financially, the company has now raised $2.2 million in total funding.
