Froont
Lapinlahdenkatu 16, Helsinki, 00180, Finland
Overview
Froont is a web-based, largely drag-and-drop WYSIWYG tool that generates responsive HTML/CSS on the fly so designers can build and share working prototypes without coding. Its cloud-hosted output can be viewed in a browser on any device, and the interface includes features like a sliding ruler for real-time target screen-size adjustments and configurable breakpoints. Froont emphasizes design-first workflows to reduce the need for Photoshop-to-developer handoffs and, in some cases, to keep developers out of the prototyping process entirely. The product runs in the browser and is positioned as an alternative to tools like Adobe Reflow by prioritizing design rather than simplifying coding. The company launched in public beta and graduated from the Finnish accelerator Startup Sauna. Froont’s six-person team is spread across San Francisco, Finland and Latvia, and the founders previously built the profitable CMS Berta as a side project.
